Playing junior for the Toronto Nationals as a 14-year-old in 1975, Wayne Gretzky remained with the club as they transitioned to Richmond Hill to become the Seneca Nationals the following season, scoring 72 points in 32 games while leading the team to the Metro Junior "B" Championship, with an astonishing 75 additional points scored in just 23 playoff games! Hailing from the collection of Shawn Chaulk, and originally acquired through collector Kevin McGuffin who in turn was gifted this and the other Seneca Nationals items offered in this auction by Toronto Nationals employee Gary Folkes (with the Nationals for a number of years, Folkes held positions with the club such as manager, assistant coach, and statistician), we have a 1977 OHA Metro Junior “B” All-Star Game full ticket graded PR 1 by PSA. Featuring a young Wayne Gretzky and taking place at St Michael’s Arena on Jan 12, 1977, the ticket lists the date and venue, with proceeds going to aid “crippled children and the Charlie Conacher Research Fund”. Sporting a few minor creases along with toning, the ticket displays nicely. The lone specimen in the PSA Population Report for either full tickets or stubs, this historic keepsake hails from the very first All-Star Game of Wayne Gretzky's iconic career! An LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
