Everyone loves a good rookie card, right? Especially the featured athlete themselves as a symbol of them really making it to “The Show”. Featured here and presented in this graded rookie card lot of three (3) include the names of Ken Griffey Jr, Cal Ripken Jr, and Mike Trout.
Leading us off and batting first, is a 1989 Upper Deck rookie of The Kid, Ken Griffey Jr. The iconic first card in UD’s inaugural release shows the young star in Spring Training with the Mariners on the well-known clean Upper Deck design. Graded by the professionals at Beckett and deemed worthy of a NM-MT 8, the holder contains the added bonus with the inclusion of a white swatch of Mariners jersey worn by Griffey himself. Subgrades on the card include; centering 8.5, corners 9, edges 9, surface 7.5. it should be noted that the holder contains a good number of light scratches that are visible. Batting second would be the one they call the Iron Man, Cal Ripken Jr. Released as part of the main Topps set in 1982 before the streak was even a thought in anyone’s mind, the young Ripken is featured on this Baltimore Orioles Future Stars card with Bob Bonner and Jeff Schneider. Graded by GEM Grading as a PRISTINE 10 with subgrades of centering 10, corners 10, edges 10, and surface 9.5, this card is sure to be a pleasure when it’s added to your collection. Rounding out the lot with our third heavy hitter is current day best overall player, Mike Trout, featured on his 2012 Topps Opening Day card. Shown celebrating with teammates after a home run trot that has become all too familiar to opponents around Major League Baseball, the card has been graded by the industry leaders at PSA as a GEM MT 10 with no flaws present whatsoever.
