The 42nd playing of the Canadian spectacle, the 1954 Grey Cup witnessed the first-place WIFU Edmonton Eskimos battle the first-place IRFU Montreal Alouettes at Varsity Stadium, on Nov 27, 1954. Won on a late 90-yard fumble return by Jackie Parker, this was the Eskimos first Grey Cup championship. This menu for the victory dinner held on Dec 1, 1954 has been team-signed by the Grey Cup-champion Eskimos, including five HOF members. At 9” x 12 ½”, the cover pictures one of the oldest football trophy in North America along with the date and venue, with 32 signing – mostly to the cover in ballpoint, including HOFers Jackie Parker, Normie Kwong, Rollie Miles, Frank Morris and Johnny Bright, along with Ray Willsey, Frank Anderson, Ted Tully, Roger Nelson, Glen Lippman, Bill Briggs, Bill Zock, Steve Mendryk, Earl Lindley, Davey West, Rod Pantages, Ray McLeod, Glenn McWhinney, Steve Bendiak, Al Bryant, Eagle Keys, Oscar Kruger and a few others. The upper right corner of the menu has been clipped, with toning, a large vertical crease and some water/mildew staining along the right border of both covers.
