Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Nifty little black and white bubble gum cards - 48 of them - comprised Bowman's 1948 issue, with all but four considered rookie cards and that of big-time lefthander Warren Spahn contributing to our consignor's intriguing stash of encapsulated RCs. Baseball's all-time winningest lefty had posted his first of (13!) 20-win seasons in '47 and would end off his big league career (that spanned 24 years) with 363 victories. Graded EX-MT + 6.5 by Global Authentication Inc. is this example, with "1st Graded" also appearing on the GAI label. Light wear at the top two corners is visible, with a couple of light scuffs to the holder, not affecting the image of the Boston Braves pitcher, also to mention. Joining kingpins Musial and Berra in the "top 3" of the '48 Bowman set is Spahn, with an alluring example here worthy of contemplation.
