Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Having spent most of the 1991-92 season with the Maple Leafs American Hockey League team in St. John’s, Mike Eastwood would only be called upon for nine games with the big club in Toronto. Presented here and hailing from that rookie season, is the Toronto Maple Leafs jersey worn by Mike in 1991-92. Maska Ultrafil tagging along with a size “54” flag tag adorns the interior collar with embroidered CCM and NHL crests along the bottom of the back hem. Styled with the instantly recognizable crest of the Maple Leafs, this style of jersey worn during the 1980’s and early-1990’s, has become increasingly more desirable to collectors. The sleeves and verso of the jersey feature single layer tackle twill numbers. Displaying evidence of a former nameplate, the #32 jersey was also worn by Daniel Marois before he was traded mid-season. Game wear exhibited on the jersey would be classified as moderate to heavy with staining, board burns, pilling, and small holes throughout. Additionally, Eastwood has signed the jersey in black marker, inside the Maple Leaf crest over the right shoulder with the signature exhibiting light fading from age.
