A veteran of over 1000 National Hockey League games, Alex Tanguay spent 50 games with the bleu, blanc et rouge in Montreal during their centennial celebration season of 2008-09. As part of the celebrations taking place, the Canadiens took to the ice wearing jerseys depicting their past years including this example based on their 1912-13 uniforms. A CCM label with “56” sizing sits affixed to the collar with handwritten “1” (for Set 1) found within the stitched outline of the reebok logo, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the vintage “CAC” maple leaf team crest that’s been partially embroidered, a red, white and blue striping pattern has been utilized, with the tie-neck garment accented with “13” sewn to the sleeves and verso in tackle twill along with the Canadiens centennial crest over the right shoulder. Having spent the season with multiple injuries, the jersey presented is in fact game-issued and not game-worn as the team tagging (A01321) found inside of the jersey near the hem states, these jerseys were worn in the February 1st 2009 game, a contest Tanguay never took part in. The “3” on the back of the jersey features a Canadiens hologram with serial number “368617” having been affixed to it. A matching letter of authenticity from the hockey club will accompany the item. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to add this rarer-style example to your collection.
