Arguably the greatest left winger in the history of the Montreal Canadiens, Steve Shutt would win five Stanley Cup’s with the Habs during the 1970’s and play all but 59 of his 930 National Hockey League games in the famed bleu, blanc et rouge. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993, we proudly offer this Montreal Canadiens jersey worn by Shutt during the 1983-84 season.
Made by Maska, a half torn off label from the company and a washed-out washing instructions tag are affixed to the inner collar, with the jersey measuring out to a size “46”. Sporting the Maska logo embroidered into the reverse hem in blue thread, the front of the garment is decorated with the famed “CH” Canadiens crest in layered tackle twill. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have Shutt’s number “22” sewn to them in blue-over-red tackle twill with “Shutt” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer blue twill letters. Sporting a customized garter style fight strap on the interior, Shutt has penned his autograph in black pen just below with the signature displaying without issue.
Riddled with game-wear, 36 team repairs are scattered throughout the entirety of the jersey including two to the front crest as well as dark stick marks and red board paint transfers that are found throughout the body and sleeves. A fantastic piece from one of the best to ever play for the famed franchise, the piece is accompanied by an LOA.
