One of the larger and more physical defenseman during the era at 6’4”, 225 pounds, Larry Robinson aggressively patrolled the Montreal Canadiens blueline for almost two decades. Beginning his career with the Habs as a Stanley Cup champion during his first season in 1972-73, Big Bird would win a total of six Stanley Cups as a player while also donning the maple leaf of Team Canada numerous times including at the Canada Cup. From the Stanley Cup championship season of 1985-86, we have a Canadiens alternate captain's jersey worn by the star blueliner. With no labeling remaining along the collar, the jersey measures-out to roughly a size 54. Featuring the most famous team crest in hockey history in tackle twill, "19" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material. There is also an embroidered *CCM logo to the reverse hem, with the dual-clasp fight strap intact. Exhibiting great game-use with washed-out marks to the front and sleeves, there is red paint transfer over each elbow section, with some pilling to the interior including the sleeves and beneath the fight strap. Team repairs are also visible, with examples situated on the front (2) and sleeves (12). This championship-season jersey will be accompanied by an LOA from Classic Auctions.
