This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Regarded by the majority of fans as the most significant moment in Canadian sports history, Paul Henderson’s goal against the Soviet Union with 0:34 left on the clock helped propel Canada to victory at the 1972 Summit Series. The legendary celebration following the goal has been captured in this modern 16” x 20” black and white framed photo display that has been signed by participants Henderson, Vladislav Tretiak and Yvan Cournoyer. A jubilant Henderson is pictured in the arms of Cournoyer, while a vanquished Tretiak looks on. All three have signed near their respective image in blue sharpie, with a small plaque and flag pins inserted beneath. Double-matted and framed to approx 25” x 29 ½”, the back of the frame has reinforcing tape added. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
