Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
To date it remains the most significant moment in Canadian baseball history when the Toronto Blue Jays captured back-to-back World Series Championships in 1992 and 1993 over the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies respectively with the latter on Joe Carter’s famous walk off home run in Game 6 at SkyDome. Presented here and hailing from those iconic victories is a set of watches made by Tiffany and Co to commemorate the Blue Jays wins of 92’ and 93’. Leading off, an official stainless-steel Tiffany "Portfolio" watch with "1992 Toronto Blue Jays - World Champions" around the perimeter of the face and "World Series" at the center, with the MLB logo below. The reverse of the 1992 example features wear in the form of a worn-out engraving that reads “David Garard”. Light wear is present to the band and reverse of the watch with scratches present on the fastening clasp where “Portfolio” appears. The second of the two, this time celebrating the 1993 achievement, features a black face with two Blue Jays logos in gold with “World Champions” and “1993” flanking around it in the same gold style. Once again featuring similar wear patterns with the same worn out engraving and scratched clasp, it should be mentioned that both faces remain wear free and present beautifully. Both are team-issued time pieces. Time to place a bid, don’t you think?
