Whoa! What a captivating and tantalizing Terry Sawchuk rookie card to tell you about here. Or do we even have to?! With not perfect but appealing centering, vibrant colors, sharp corners, bold text, an apparent unblemished surface and an impressive clean back, this example received lofty NM-MT 8 recognition at PSA. A couple of minuscule corner touches are all that can be detected upon inspection. The card originally came with Parkhurst gum and displays some of the Winnipeg native's first-season statistics, his 11 shutouts and a 1.98 goals against average earning him the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year. Terry upped it to 12 shutouts in '51-52 and the regular season champion Red Wings then rolled through the playoffs, not losing a single game against the Maple Leafs and Canadiens, with Sawchuk registering four shutouts and allowing just five postseason goals - amazing. An amazing addition to your collection/portfolio this beauty will be. A few light surface scratches to the PSA holder are to note, along with the fact that just 18 out of all of the Sawchuk RCs submitted to PSA over the years (473 as of this writing) have ever scored higher than NM-MT 8.
