Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
One of the most important and coveted hockey cards of the postwar era, that picturing a teenage Bobby Hull is on the auction block here, with the last numbered card in Topps' 1958-59 issue in this case exhibiting NM 7 characteristics. Several years ago is when PSA rendered its verdict, adding an (OC) qualifier and although the centering is indeed not perfect, most longtime hobbyists have seen numerous Hull RCs with poorer centering. Most longtime hockey observers, rightfully so, consider the Black Hawks' goal-scoring machine hockey's greatest left winger and in any debate ask, "who was greater?" Some might contend that specks of paper loss appear in the green on the back here and that's debatable, while a scratch in the PSA holder is visible in the top left corner region of Bobby's famous rookie card - a rather mesmerizing one indeed and worthy of an important Hull/RC shrine.
