Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
An opportunity to acquire a complete set of Parkhurst’s second hockey card effort is available here, with a varied assortment of grades comprising this pieced-together 105-card ensemble. Many of the key cards have been assessed by KSA – we won’t repeat those in the title but will tell of the other slabbed contributors. Condition leaders include one PSA EX-MT 6 representative (77-McIntyre) and seven receiving KSA’s mark of 6 ENM; 5-Gamble, 8-Mosdell, 24-Ronty, 32-Sclisizzi, 72-Dumart, 76-Creighton and 102-McLeod, while at 5 EX are 59-Lumley and four others; 16-Babando, 55-Fogolin, 65-Leswick and 73-Toppazzini. With rounding at the corners and receiving a generous EX 5 assessment from PSA numerous years ago is Ted Kennedy’s #44 card. As for the raw rest, they include an acceptable low grade Tim Horton rookie card (P) with multiple light creases and paper loss (front), while a George Armstrong RC measures markedly shorter than the encapsulated cards, suggesting trimming or a poor cut job, with 34-Boivin RC, 53-Delvecchio, 68-Quackenbush, 74-Henry and 95-Bentley exhibiting the same (short or narrow) characteristics, and some others suspect. Expect mostly VG, VG+ and VG-EX cards amid the remainder (with some lower (more) and higher among the rest), with 87-Lindsay a crease-free VG+ notable and a crease/creasing spotted in 3-Geoffrion, 6-Lach, 67-Kelly and 105-Hassard RC (F). All sorts of perusing and inspecting awaits when these classic collectibles arrive at your premises. *Varying amounts of scratches/scuffs to the KSA holders of the key cards are observed, with those of the others mostly scratch and scuff-free.
