Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Considering boycotting the 1972 Canada-Russia Series due to the exclusion from Team Canada of his brother Bobby, Dennis Hull saw action in four of the eight Summit Series games, taking over for Vic Hadfield and playing on a line with HOFers Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert. Scarce 1972 Series-related pennant collection includes the small, seldom-seen Canada-CCCP banner presented to members of Team Canada prior to games held on Russian soil during the Summit Series. It measures about 4" by 6" with a blue rope hanger at the top. Three more hockey-related pennants are in varying sizes in the common red CCCP style with the largest measuring 5" x 9". All four were gifted to Hull during his stay in Moscow in September of '72. Originating from his personal collection, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
