Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
One of the most electric goal scorers in the current iteration of the National Hockey League, Leon Draisaitl has the ability to strike and light the lamp seemingly at will. Presented here is a Warrior Alpha LX game-used stick that has also been signed by the 2020 Hart Trophy and Art Ross Trophy winner. The signature, signed in silver marker on the stick blade tape is fainter than one would probably like, surely due to a poor writing utensil. This model of stick was used by Draisaitl throughout the 2021-22 NHL season while playing with the Edmonton Oilers and matches up perfectly with others that have come to market. The tape style featured is in typical Leon fashion and is fully present on both the blade and the shaft. Factory graphics of “Draisaitl” is found on the shaft as well with factory warranty and serial number stickers affixed to the backside. Presented in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, the game wear featured on the stick would be described as light with the blade showing light puck marks and only very minor chips and nicks on the lower shaft and heel. The shaft tape shows some discolouration. The stick is part of a large collection of sticks featured in this auction with our consignor informing us that he obtained most of them from various NHL All-Star Games over the years with four such examples from the collection having been photo-matched to All-Star Games.
