Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Possessing a booming shot that regularly reaches speeds of over 100 miles per hour and being the tallest player to ever lace up the skates and play in the National Hockey League, Zdeno Chara, or “Big Z” as he is known, comes with a sort of folklore that follows the six-foot nine defenseman around. Hailing from the 2012-13 NHL season while patrolling the blue line of the Boston Bruins is this signed game-used Warrior Diablo stick that was used by Chara. Signed on the tapeless blade in silver marker, the signature displays well with excellent eye appeal and no flaws whatsoever. The top of the stick features Chara’s familiar tape style as found on other examples that have come to market. Featuring factory graphics on the shaft of this gargantuan twig that read “Chara”, the backside of the shaft still has factory warranty and serial number stickers present. Presenting extremely well overall with no cracks or breaks, the game wear exhibited on the stick is extremely light with only some factory graphics wear on the lower part of the shaft. The stick is part of a large collection of sticks featured in this auction with our consignor informing us that he obtained most of them from various NHL All-Star Games over the years with four such examples from the collection having been photo-matched to All-Star Games.
