Representing Russia internationally throughout his lengthy professional career, Viktor Kozlov was drafted by San Jose in 1993 and spent his first four NHL seasons with the club. Kozlov would dress for six different North American clubs and is currently an assistant coach with the KHL's Metallurg Magnitogorsk. From his second NHL season, we have a photo-matched Sharks jersey worn by Kozlov in 1996-97. A single size “56” fly tag is affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a multi-coloured Sharks team crest, “25” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Littered with dark marks across the front and sleeves, the jersey sports board burns along with a few small resulting holes over each elbow section. There is also pilling to the interior. Getty Image #303485 (Feb 1, 1997 vs Colorado) has been matched to the two faint stick marks over the front including the example that crosses the left side of the team crest, while Getty Image #352151 (Feb 18, 1997 vs Minnesota) has been matched to a few dark marks over the right sleeve. Additionally, Getty Image #352229 (Feb 18, 1997 vs Minnesota) has been matched to the mark over the upper right sleeve near the number. An LOA from the Sharks will accompany.
