Longtime captain Shane Doan became the first Phoenix Coyotes player to have his jersey retired. Doan, who played his first season with the old Winnipeg Jets in 1995-96 and retired after the 2016-17 season with Arizona, holds franchise records for games (1,540), goals (402), assists (570) and points (972). These skates were worn by the star during the early-to-mid-2010s, circa 2013-2015. Bauer Vapor models with “19” stickers affixed to each underside boot, there is a custom lift added to the blade holder on the right skate, with the pair showing heavy, thorough game-use, with considerable wear to the material over the boots and numerous puck marks and cuts to the blade holders. Notations were also added to each interior. Getty Image #484692829 (April 13, 2014) appears to show matching wear marks over the reverse of each skate, but the image isn’t clear enough to be called a definitive photo-match, while Getty Image #485991735 (April 13, 2014) appears to show matching wear marks over the inside section of the right skate, before additional wear was added, but the image isn’t clear enough to be called a definitive photo-match. Additionally, Getty Images #457629678 and #457991340 (Oct 21, 2014) both appear to show matching marks to the skates, including the “19” stickers in the matching spots (457629678), but the images are again not clear enough to be called definitive photo-matches.
