An opportunity to acquire several well-known rookie cards in encapsulated form with one swoop may pique the interest of numerous hobbyists, with the lowdown as follows: Steve Yzerman’s 1984-85 Topps RC may be tops in appeal, with card #49 earning NM-MT 8 status some years ago at PSA, while ACA, a Montreal firm, inspected and graded most of the others, all of them O-Pee-Chee issues unless noted. The condition leader at 8.5 NMM+ is an ’88-89 Joe Sakic rookie, while coming in at 7 NM are those of Pat Lafontaine, Al MacInnis, Kirk Muller and Luc Robitaille. In holders labeled 6 EXMINT are Gary Suter and Pierre Turgeon RCs, while contributing at 5 EX are Denis Savard, Peter Stastny and Jimmy Carson. A crease is observed in Paul Coffey and Grant Fuhr rookies (both 3 VG), similar to Dale Hawerchuk’s 3.5 VG+ example. An Upper Deck Jaromir Jagr rookie is a 6, while PSA’s mark of GEM MT 10 was given to a ’95-96 Upper Deck Markus Nilsson RC – too bad he did not reach stardom. Some raw card throw-ins include four Wayne Gretzky OPC “leader” cards from the ‘80s (a corner ding or more is to note), a Jagr Score RC (two touched corners) and a ’92-93 OPC Premier Eric Lindros card. Several options await you here, with no obvious scratches visible in the holders themselves.
