Finishing second to Mario Lemieux for the Calder Memorial Trophy in 1985, Chris Chelios enjoyed one of the lengthiest careers in history, with three Stanley Cup championships won throughout his full 25 NHL seasons. The Illinois native would also earn three James Norris trophies along with selection to eleven NHL All-Star Games. Offered directly from the Ted Lindsay Foundation with proceeds from this sale to benefit their continued battle against autism, we have a career highlights print signed by the superstar. At 20” x 24” and picturing Chelios enjoying a cold one while draped in his Red Wings jersey, eight small career vignettes have been placed beneath, with Soft Hands adding a large and flawless silver paint pen signature to the right of his image. With just light wear to the print which includes touches to the corners, an LOA will accompany.
Originally created by the legendary Hall of Fame superstar in 2001 to assist a friend’s child diagnosed with autism, the Ted Lindsay Foundation was established to “support research and educational programs focusing on the cause and management of autism spectrum disorders.” Although Ted sadly left us in 2019, the foundation’s important work has continued, with over 5 million raised from inception through 2020. At the 28th National Philanthropy Day celebration, the Ted Lindsay Foundation received the prestigious “Outstanding Foundation Award” for 2019, from the Greater Detroit Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals for demonstrating “outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation to others to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.” A partial list of programs supported by the Ted Lindsay Foundation include; FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation, The Healing Haven-Linking Hands and Hearts, The Courage Awards, Venetian’s Club’s Halloween Party, The Johnson Center, Dutton Farms and For The Kids Foundation.
