Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

An opportunity to acquire the ultra-desirable rookie card of the one and only “Mr. Hockey,” Gordie Howe presents itself here, with the registration and the overall condition admittedly “off” but with Gordie and the Red Wings definitely “on” when this little card was discovered in a little Parkhurst box. What we mean is that Detroit’s star right winger in 1951-52 followed up his first Art Ross Trophy with his second consecutive 86-point campaign, this time firing a career-high (to that point) 47 goals to claim his second of four straight scoring titles, before helping the Red Wings show their dominant might in the playoffs, sweeping both the semi-finals (Maple Leafs) and finals (Canadiens) in four straight – longtime hockey observers always considered the ’51-52 Red Wings as one of the most powerful teams of all time. With multiple creases and an image right of center, the offered Howe RC appropriately received a PR 1 assessment but is a respectable and surely acceptable example, one that will permit you to proudly say, “I own a Howe rookie.” The special relic will arrive in a scratch-free PSA holder.
