Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
With the 1999-00 season in full swing, Trevor Linden and the Canadiens played host to the New Jersey Devils on February 22, 2000. The two teams played a tight game that night before Benoit Brunet scored the winner in overtime. Linden is seen here celebrating one of his club’s three goals that night. The frame with matted photo does have some small indentations on the front, which is understandable when since it was on display in hockey’s revered temple. On the back, there are affixed pieces of wood that were used to hang the display with the original adhesive still attached along with some staining, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Molson Centre possibly later on at the Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
