Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Turgeon’s arrival with the Canadiens late in the 1994-95 campaign gave fans reason to cheer due to his explosive offensive capabilities. This photo display features a shot from the early part of his tenure with the team before he took over as captain following the departure of Mike Keane. You can also spot teammates Vincent Damphousse and Patrice Brisebois in the background ready to take the faceoff with him. There are a few minor scuffs on the front and rounding on the corners of the frame as to be expected from hanging in one of hockey's holy temples, but it will display nicely in your home or office. Some of the lamination along the front edges does show small signs of wear, but the photo remains intact. On the back, there are two small holes from where screws were affixed to the frame and the producer’s information appears on pieces of tape on the back. However, this will in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
