Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Nearing the 100-point plateau, Vincent Damphousse led the Montreal Canadiens in points during the 1992-93 season, with the club registering 48 wins. The Nordiques, Sabres and Islanders would all be defeated in the postseason before the Habs crushed the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup finals. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Molson/Bell Centre, we have an oversized photo display that captures game-action from the 1993 Stanley Cup finals. At an especially large 40” x 55”, a heated moment in play at the Montreal Forum is depicted with Captain Guy Carbonneau front and center. The image has been mounted to board with a framed backing for mounting. Exhibiting surface wear including a number of dark streaks and blemishes, there is additional wear to the corners and along edges, and please note that due to the excessive size/weight, THIS ITEM CAN ONLY BE PICKED-UP AND NOT SHIPPED. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
