Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Moore was hockey’s most dominant scorer as the 1950s came to an end and he won two straight scoring titles. The second once came thanks to a 96-point effort in 1958-59 and it set a record for most points in a season at the time. The image here was also used on his 1959-60 Parkhurst hockey card. Offered here is a fine framed photo display featuring an on-ice portrait of the Hall of Famer, with the modern print matted. The frame does have some white paint spatter on top and some minor wear on the front of the frame and its corners. On the back, there are some holes which were made when the display was mounted along with removable grooved plastic pieces that helped hold it in place, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
