Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/1/2022
A defenseman selected in the first round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by Detroit, Yves Racine saw action with six different NHL clubs throughout his career, and represented Canada at the IIHF World Championships twice during the 1990s. This signed Red Wings jersey was worn by the Matane native during the 1990-91 Stanley Cup playoffs. East Side and Maska labels are affixed to the collar with handwritten “52” sizing, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the reverse hem. Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest with embroidered detailing, “33” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill, with “Racine” across the upper reverse in matching material. “91” is also embroidered to the reverse hem to denote playoffs use in 1991. Sporting considerable game-use with marks over the front and reverse, there are a few additional marks and burns to the sleeves, with a slit near the numbers on the upper right sleeve. Racine has added a black marker signature over the upper left that displays well.
