Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
In the era where the Broad Street Bullies reigned supreme, Bernie Parent was at the top of his game and the last line of defense while leading the Philadelphia Flyers to consecutive Stanley Cup championships in the mid-1970s. A two-time Conn Smythe winner, Parent was enshrined for his remarkable career in 1984. This stick was issued to Parent during the mid-1970s. A Sher-Wood model with "1" and "Parent B" stamped to the upper shaft, the original white tape over the blade, paddle and knob is in place. In beautiful condition, sporting just light age and storage wear with no puck marks visible, there is also areas of the shaft that show no varnish - with this likely a minor factory defect. Additionally, we should add that it is possible that the stick would have been used briefly. A pair of 3 1/2" x 5" period snapshot photos of Parent using a matching model stick will be included.
