The 1998-99 season was bitter sweet for the Toronto Maple Leaf organization as it saw it move on from the “Grand Old Lady on Carlton Street”, Maple Leaf Gardens, and into the brand-new Air Canada Centre. The Leafs called the Gardens home for 68 seasons and complied a total of 11 Stanley Cups while inhabiting the building. Presented here from that 1998-99 season is the team-signed limited edition framed print titled “New Memories, New Dreams”. The black and white print depicts the boys having traded in their blue and white uniforms for construction garb to lend a hand in building their new home. Team signed, the print measures out to 31 ¼” x 25 ¼” in total and includes 21 total signatures including the likes of Curtis Joseph, Mats Sundin, Steve Thomas, Tie Domi, and Sergei Berezin that have been signed in silver ink and displaying beautifully on the print. In a black frame that displays wear throughout, the print has been matted under a black velvet matte. The print itself displays wear such as staining and scratching. Accompanying the piece is a multi-signed framed photo of the new Leafs home, the Air Canada Centre. Measuring out to a total dimension of 30 ¾” x 26”, the photo has been signed by 5 Leafs in total including: Gary Valk, Mike Johnson, Todd Warriner, Steve Sullivan, and Fredrik Modin. All the signatures are signed in gold ink and have been inscribed with each player’s respective number giving them excellent eye appeal. Housed in a black wooden frame, it does display wear throughout especially on the bottom side. Accompanying the display is a plaque mentioning the new arena by name and decreeing it the start of a new era in Maple Leafs hockey.
