Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Known as one of Canada’s sporting heroes because of what he did with 34 seconds left in the deciding eight game of the 1972 Summit Series versus the Soviet Union, Paul Henderson will forever have a place in Canadian history. Presented here is a replica of the jersey that was worn by Paul Henderson during games five through eight in the Soviet Union during the 1972 Series. The jersey, which has been customized on the back with the “Canada” name bar across the top and Henderson’s fabled number 19, has been signed by the man himself on the number 1 in black marker that displays well with no flaws. A “Team of the Century” patch is proudly sewn to the right side of the jersey. A COA from Heritage Hockey will accompany the item. Also included in the lot is a book celebrating the 40th anniversary of that historical team that serves as the official publication of the occasion. The book remains as new and includes the dust jacket. The Roots “Team of the Century” black leather bag that is included also remains in excellent condition with very minimal wear present aside needing a bit of a wipe down and conditioning. All the zippers and handles work without flaw.
