Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Pele began playing for the Brazil national team at just 16, and led the nation to FIFA World Cup championships in 1958, 1962 and 1970. Retiring from Brazilian Club football after the 1974 season, Pele signed with the New York Cosmos of the NASL in 1975, and won the 1977 NASL championship during his final season. This typed letter on Cosmos letterhead has been signed by the iconic footballer. At 8” x 10” and dated “Oct 2, 1978”, a Cosmos logo graces the top along with the team’s address placed over the base. Responding to the request from a fan, Pele has signed in blue fiber tip marker, with the bold signature flawless. There are fold lines and some minor toning to the letter itself along with a few light corner creases, with a JSA sticker numbered “EE21626” affixed to the reverse and a matching Basic Certification to accompany.
