One of the most seen images of the Original Six era is that of Bashing Bill Barilko scoring over the shoulder of Canadiens goaltender, Gerry McNeil in game five of the 1951 Stanley Cup Finals. That goal would win the Leafs the Cup and be the last goal Barilko ever scored before perishing in a plane crash that summer while on a fishing trip in Northern Ontario. The Leafs would not win another Cup until 1962, the year the wreckage of the plane and remains of Barilko were laid to rest. Offered here is a team photo of those 1950-51 Stanley Cup Champion Maple Leafs that has been signed by some of the most recognizable names on that team. Serial numbered “17/51”, the piece carries the signatures of Ted Kennedy, Howie Meeker, Harry Watson, Fern Flaman, Sid Smith, Joe Klukay, John McCormack, Fleming Mackell, Gus Mortson, and Danny Lewicki. The 16” x 20” full colour photo, housed in a dark wooden frame that displays wear and nicks throughout, features an AJ Authentic hologram sticker numbered “AJ-AA7461” is affixed to the lower right-hand corner of the photo with the picture itself displayed under a navy-blue matte with silver information plaque displaying information of that fabled winning goal as well as lists the signatures found on the piece. The signatures display well for the most part with those on the right side of the piece having faded some though still remaining legible and pronounced.
