Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
As the saying goes, look good and you’ll play good as well, which just so happens to have been the case with this lot featuring two late 1970’s Seneca Nationals team jackets. The first jacket presented is a nylon snap style coaches jacket made by an unknown manufacturer (presumably one within Toronto). The jacket is in almost unworn condition and showcases no wear whatsoever. Featuring tagging on the interior collar designating the jacket as a size “42”, the outline of the pockets and snaps on the chest and cuffs are pearl white while the chest features embroidered logos and wordmarks for the Seneca Nationals Hockey Club and Metro Junior “B” Champions. The second jacket comes to us having been made by Casa Nova Leathers of Toronto. Done in a deep red leather motorcycle style, this slick piece features full zip front and pockets with a neck snap as well as zipper openings at the sleeve cuffs. Supple and not cracked or dried out, the front of the jacket features a stitched-on Seneca Nationals logo patch while the interior neck’s tagging designates the size as being a “44”. The jacket remains in virtually brand-new unworn condition. A wonderful pair from the yesteryear era of hockey that will leave you turning heads! Additionally, included with the jackets is a Seneca Nationals official OHA game puck. Made by Viceroy, the puck remains in near perfect condition with the only wear present found on the back labeling over the word “Viceroy”. Hailing from the collection of Shawn Chaulk, and originally acquired through collector Kevin McGuffin who in turn was gifted this and the other Seneca Nationals items offered in this auction by Toronto Nationals employee Gary Folkes (with the Nationals for a number of years, Folkes held positions with the club such as manager, assistant coach, and statistician), an LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
