Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Hailing from what would end up being The Great One’s final game with the Seneca Nationals for his career, Gretzky put up his final playoff point as the Nats were eliminated by Stratford in game 5 of the Sunderland Cup semi-finals. Gretzky’s final playoff line would read 40 goals and 35 assists for 75 points in only 23 games played! Not too shabby! From that semi-final's fifth game is this scoresheet that of course features Gretzky and overall tells the story of the contest such as how Wayne would put up his final point of the playoffs, number 75, on a second period power play assist. At 11" x 14" and showcased on a thin yellow paper, the piece displays well for its age with toning, fold lines and a few visible creases, with all of the printing remaining bold and legible, an ideal candidate for framing. A remarkable piece of history from the early beginnings of the world's greatest hockey player’s career. Hailing from the collection of Shawn Chaulk, and originally acquired through collector Kevin McGuffin who in turn was gifted this and the other Seneca Nationals items offered in this auction by Toronto Nationals employee Gary Folkes (with the Nationals for a number of years, Folkes held positions with the club such as manager, assistant coach, and statistician), an LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
