Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Memorabilia featuring the greatest player the game of hockey has ever seen is plentiful, with this great grouping of Gretzky paraphernalia for your collecting pleasure. Leading us off, our lucky winner will find a total of six (6) posters that feature Wayne with two (2) being issued by Pepsi and featuring some of number 99’s greatest moments which were also featured on drink cans. Measuring out to 18” x 24”, the posters are rolled up but don’t display any wear. The last four (4) posters found within the lot feature Wayne as a Ranger and are a promotional piece from Chunky Soup. Showcasing the entirety of the 1996-97 NHL season schedule, Wayne is accompanied on the poster by all of the NHL team logos of the time. All four posters have been folded down into squares and only have the fold lines as wear. Each poster measures out to 22” x 34” in size. Moving on, the lot also features a total of 30 NHL Canadian Legends medallions that feature names such as Gretzky, Orr, Hull, and Howe among others. 29 are new in the bag with one loose Gretzky one also included. Next are 17 pieces from the Oilers Legends Premium Plaque Collection. Featuring names such as Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, and Coffey, the plaques are a nice reminder of the Oilers Cup dynasty years when they were virtually unbeatable. 16 of the 17 pieces remain new in bags with one loose. Next, the lot features a total of five pucks. Three of the five are promotions from the Gretzky Estates Winery and feature the logo of the brand on the front while having a facsimile signature of Wayne’s on the back. The group of pucks is rounded out with a 2002 Winter Olympics McDonalds promotional piece as well as a 2018 Hilinka Gretzky Cup official game puck from when the tournament was playing in Edmonton/Red Deer. The last items of the lot include a 1980 copy of the “The Great Gretzky" by Terry Jones that remains in excellent condition with only light edge and spine wear, as well as two pins from Wayne’s Oiler jersey retirement night on October 1st, 1999. Overall a great lot of smalls that would be an excellent add or start to any Gretzky enthusiasts collection. An LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
