Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Topps hockey card action to tell you about here dates back to a 1968-69 Bobby Hull card (EX+) and seven other similar or better Black Hawks, with four dozen ’71-72s headlined by a Ken Dryden RC in EX condition. Other big names (Orr, Howe, Hull) are VG+ due to a tiny corner crease caused by a dinged corner, with VG+ to EX examples dominating the rest and other stars/Hall of Famers also present. A ’71-72 Topps Booklet set of 24 carries some appeal and averages EX, while the biggest pile (150+) is from ’72-73. Corner dings affect most and mostly VG-EX to EX condition is to report but with again, numerous star cards and Orr at VG-EX. There are small stacks from a few ensuing years (’74-75 Denis Potvin RC is EX-MT) and then 45+ from ’77-78 and three dozen from ’78-79. Blue-bordered jobs from ’79-80 (40+) include Howe (EX-MT) and Hull (VG-EX), with ’80-81s (50+) starring Wayne Gretzky. Seven various Gretzky entries include scratched, partially scratched and unscratched example, with #250 otherwise EX. Completing are three dozen ’81-82s, (16) ’76-77 glossy inserts, (17) ’80-81 Topps Team Posters (a set plus a duplicate Whalers), a bit of ’76-77 OPC WHA representation (five cards including 100-Hull and 65-Hull All-Star (both EX)) and a neat partial Milk Duds box that advertises Bobby Hull and Golden Jet chocolate bars – cool. Some perusing and sorting fun to be had when these are delivered.
