Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Famously upsetting a powerful Soviet squad that won gold medals at five of the previous six Winter Games, Team USA would go undefeated in 1980 at Lake Placid, with the “Miracle on Ice” complete with the defeat of Finland in their final match. Battling the Russians in the first game of the medal round on Feb 22, 1980, Team USA scored two goals in the third to go up by a single point, and held on for the 4-3 victory, and immortality. This Olympic program features a ticket stub affixed from the gold medal match played two days later vs Finland. The souvenir program sports a $5.00 cover price along with an illustration from LeRoy Neiman, and focuses mainly on skiing, with the gold medal ticket stub stapled to the now detached centerfold. Sporting light handling wear, both the ticket and program remain in beautiful collectible condition, ideal for display in your “Miracle on Ice” Olympic shrine.
