O Canada! Golden memories of Vancouver 2010 are conjured up by this official Olympic relay torch from our nation’s most successful Winter Games. Canada won gold in both men’s and women’s hockey and an astounding 14 gold medals in all, a record for an Olympic Winter Games host. This original Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch is the engineering marvel that carried the Olympic Flame on a 45,000-kilometer journey across Canada as 12,000 torchbearers shared its spirit with 1,037 communities from coast to coast to coast. Accompanied by the torch bearer’s full uniform, a stand to display the torch, and a photo of our consignor during the torch relay wearing this very outfit (“137” can be seen over the right breast in the photo, with this matching the offered garment), “With Glowing Hearts” reads the inscription on the aluminum frame that houses the torch’s sophisticated technology within its fiberglass shell, which displays the colorful Vancouver 2010 Olympic logo. Surface wear is present along with evidence of the torch being lit, with the middle and top potions reinforced with added clear tape. The uniform includes the “2XL” windbreaker with “Torch Relay” screened over the left breast along with a Vancouver Games logo, with “Vancouver 2010” running down the right arm along with the Olympic rings on the reverse. The matching pants also sport a Vancouver Games logo, along with the toque and red gloves with a maple leaf embroidered to each.
