A four-time consecutive Frank J. Selke Trophy winner during the late-1970s/early-1980s, Bob Gainey also earned the coveted Conn Smythe Trophy in 1979, and served as captain for the world’s most famous hockey team for eight seasons. This team-signed stick was issued to Gainey for the 1983-84 NHL season. A Vic Ultra model with “B. Gainey” stamped, most of the striping accent is intact but loose, with one side of the shaft shaved down. Approx 24 have signed the shaved portion of the shaft in ballpoint, including Gainey, along with fellow HOFers Lafleur, Robinson and Jacques Lemaire, as well as Naslund, Smith, Chabot, Tremblay, Nilan, Ludwig, Root, Turcotte, Hunter, Hamel, Mondou, Wamsley and others. The signatures present well, with light wear to the stick including small dabs of white paint near the top of the shaft.
