Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
The sports most successful early club, calling the nations capital home, the Ottawa Senators are seeped in rich history, with the dominant and consecutive Stanley Cup champions known during the era as the “Silver Seven”. We offer a pair of especially rare Senators pins. First, we peg the hockey stick pin with red, white and black enamel inserts to the early-1990s to 1910s, while the pin with crossed hockey sticks is circa late-1920s to mid-1930s. The former measures approximately 2-3/4" in length, while the latter, also with enamel inserts, is just under 1-1/2" in height. Both have survived in pleasing condition, sporting wear commensurate with their age and former use, with no unsightly damage. The long list of Hall-of-Famers who proudly represented the Senators includes Frank Nighbor, Punch Broadbent, Cy Denneny, King Clancy, Clint Benedict and Alec Connell.
