Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
The 2005-06 NHL season commenced on Oct 5th, with each team wearing "NHL Cares" patches for their opening home games, with these jerseys later auctioned, with the proceeds going to Hurricane Katrina victims. This Black Hawks example was worn by Mark Bell in the Oct 5, 2005 home opener vs Anaheim, with the contest won by the Ducks, 5-3. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the bottom hem and reverse neckline respectively. Styled with the classic partially chain-stitched Indian head team crest, “28” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with matching tomahawk crests over each shoulder, and the “NHL Cares” patch over the right breast. Worn for a single contest, the jersey exhibits just light game-use, with a pair of small dots over the front band.
