Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Perishing when his ICON A5 amphibious plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida coast, Roy Halladay is one of only six pitchers in MLB history to win the Cy Young Award in both the American and National Leagues. We have a limited-edition Toronto Blue Jays stats jersey signed by the superstar ace. Majestic labeling with a “44” size tag sit over the front tail, with “Toronto” and a Jays crest across the chest in layered tackle twill, with “32” repeated along with “Halladay” over the reverse in matching material. Signed on the front in blue felt tip marker beneath the left side of the team crest, adding career stats, the limited-edition number of “9/32” is handwritten beneath, with a bit of fading to the signature/inscription. We should also note a small stain just above the team crest. Halladay posthumously had his number retired by the Jays on March 29, 2018, and he was announced as an inductee to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on January 22, 2019.
