Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
With Dallas Cowboys head coach Tom Landry derisively nicknaming Miami’s defensive unit of the early-1970s the “No-Name Defense” due to the supposed lack of high-profile players, the Dolphins managed to go undefeated in 1972 and win Super Bowl VII – the only team in history to achieve the feat, with nine members selected to the Pro Bowl. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the undefeated Dolphins of '72, we have a team-signed helmet from the 30th anniversary reunion in 2002. A full-size Riddell model with Dolphins decals over each side, approx 45 have signed throughout in matching black marker, including Shula, Csonka, Griese, M Moore, A Jenkins, Briscoe, Foley, Babb, Fleming, Powell, Kolen, Stowe, E Jenkins, Ginn, Crusan, Heinz, Ball, Dunaway, Den Herder, Twilley, Warfield, Kuechenberg, Johnson, Little, Langer, Kiick, Morrall, Fernandez, Kindig, Seiple, Stanfill, Evans and others. The signatures display beautifully, with a few showing light rubbing/smudging. A pair of holograms/stickers are affixed to the lower reverse, with a COA to accompany.
