Despite their below .500 record, the Duluth-Superior Dukes got hot at the right time and knocked off the St. Paul Saints and Winnipeg Goldeyes to win the Northern League championship in 1997. Jackie Hernandez, a member of Duluth-Superior’s coaching staff for the season World Series champion with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1971 was presented this beautiful championship ring to commemorate the accomplishment. Displaying the Duke’s logo in gold on a purple background, “Northern League Champions 1997” encompasses the imagery. The left shank reads “Hernandez” above the team’s wordmark logo and Jackie’s number “2” with everything done in gold on a black background. The right shank shows the Northern League logo with “Greatest Show on Dirt” above a baseball done in matching gold style. The size 11 ring carries an approximate weight of 34 grams while the inside band is stamped “Jostens 10K”. in phenomenal condition with just light scratching exhibited, the ring comes with a signed LOA from Hernandez.
