Skating in literally every NHL All-Star Game from 1959 until and including 1974, Frank Mahovlich saw action in both the NHL and WHA and hoisted Lord Stanley’s hardware six times. The Timmins native would spend his first dozen NHL seasons in the famous blue and white jersey of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and we offer a team-signed stick used by Mahovlich attributed to the final year of the Original Six era and Stanley Cup championship season of 1966-67. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro model, “Mahovlich” and “27” are stamped to the upper shaft, with the blade tape removed (residue visible), and the black tape over the handle/knob intact. Exhibiting light game-use with a few marks to the shaft, there are also two holes drilled into the shaft – most likely from a former mounting. Approx 17 have signed one side of the shaft in mixed inks including deceased HOFers Horton (clean ballpoint example with no infringements), Pulford, Armstrong, Imlach, Kelly, Stanley and Marcel Pronovost, along with Keon, Conacher, Walton, Douglas, Baun, B Gamble, Haggert (trainer), Shack (stamp, not a signature) and a couple others. Dated by the combination of signatures, it should be noted that there is the possibility of the stick originating from 1965-66, as Brian Conacher played 2 games in 1965-66 and Mike Walton played 6 games in 1965-66, with both players having played the November 27th and 28th games for the Leafs in 1965-66. The majority of the signatures show light fading, with a few remaining bold, with an even layer of shellac added to the shaft over the signatures.
