Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/1/2022
Drafted by Edmonton and making his NHL debut for the club in 1993-94, Kirk Maltby spent parts of three seasons with the Oilers before playing in over 900 games for the Detroit Red Wings which included being crowned a Stanley Cup champion four times. From the Motor City Stanley Cup championship season of 2007-08, we have a Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by Maltby. A CCM label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively (there is also a team store price tag still attached). Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest with embroidered detailing, “18” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill, with “Maltby” in individual letters affixed directly to the upper reverse. Showing moderate game-use, there are material pulls over the front and a large stick mark over the right seam/reverse, with additional wear and pulls over the sleeves including two team repairs near the right elbow. The team patch denoting the garment as a “2nd Set” example is sewn to the inside hem.
