Beginning his career in his native Sweden with AIK, goaltender Jonas Gustavsson backstopped four different NHL clubs throughout his professional tenure, and represented his nation at the World Championships and Winter Olympics in 2010. This photo-matched mask was worn by Gustavsson during his second of three seasons with Detroit, in 2013-14. A Bauer model with intact strapping, cage and added throat guard, the paint design was executed by DaveArt and is entitled “The Monster Truck” (there is a DaveArt signature beneath the left eye), and features a mechanized creature with Wings logos and “50” over the chin section. The backplate also sports a mock Michigan license plate of “50 Mnstr”. Nice use is exhibited with a few scratches to the mask and wear and marks to the throat guard. There is also some soiling to the strapping and mouth guard. Getty Image #482310171 (March 30, 2014) has been matched to the small re-colored chip just to the right of "Bauer" on the forehead, while Getty Image #486903059 (April 26, 2014) has been matched to to the small black spot and sticker residue on the inside back of the helmet (right side). Additionally, we should note that a number of close-up photos from the season show the exact details/placement of the paint design. A Bauer storage/carry bag is also included.
