Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
The last NHL goaltender to wear a traditional player's helmet/cage combo, Chris Osgood enjoyed 17 seasons of professional NHL hockey, backstopping three different clubs which included two stints in Motor City with the Red Wings. Osgood is also a three-time Stanley Cup champion, and is currently 4th all-time in win percentage. This lots offers signed skates worn by Osgood in the late-1990s/early-2000s, a signed Red Wings jersey, signed puck, signed pewter statue and a quartet of signed photos including one signed with Gordie Howe. First, the skates are Bauer Reactor models with Bauer blade holders with intact lacing, with “30 DRW” handwritten to each underside, with Osgood signing each outside section in black marker. The skates show light use including red paint transfer, with a Hockeytown hologram affixed to the right skate. The jersey was produced by Reebok with “54” sizing and a tackle twill team crest and numbers, with the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals crest over the right breast. Osgood has signed the reverse “0” in black marker. The InGlasCo puck has been signed over the Red Wings logo in silver, with the 4 ½” pewter statue signed on the base in silver, with wear to the base. Lastly, the photos are 11” x 14” (Osgood with the Cup, signed in blue sharpie), 10” x 11” (fighting Patrick Roy – newspaper reproduction, signed in blue sharpie), and two 8” x 10” photos, including one with Howe, with both signing in silver. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany for the signatures.
