Mr. Hockey seemed to always be able to come up in big moments when the Red Wings needed them as presented in these attractive photo displays showcasing two instances that include Gordie Howe’s 600th career goal as well as scoring the goal that clinched the Stanley Cup for Motown in 1955 over the Montreal Canadiens, with both examples having been signed and inscribed by Mr. Hockey himself. Both pieces in the lot include eye catching photographs of the respective moments being displayed beside replica National Hockey League game sheets from the games being showcased. On both pieces, the photographs have been autographed by Mr. Hockey in bold black Sharpie marker and both have been inscribed with Howe’s famous nickname as well as the moment that has been captured and recognized with the piece. Each has been triple-matted and includes two plaques listing the moment being showcased as well as small write up. Team pins accompany the bottom plaque of each, with the pair housed in black frames with gold outlines that display well. Numbered in the lower left-hand corner of each “29/199” and “31/199” respectively. Each piece measures approximately 23” x 32”. Both come from Frameworth with the 1955 “Cup Clinch” piece retaining its original COA. It should be noted that the piece displaying Howe’s 600th goal does not have its original COA and that both frames have wear includign chipping.
