Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Forever changing the sport after emerging in the NHL, with scouts then seeking the type of players that matched his complete game of brawn combined with skill and speed, Gordie Howe retired as the all-time NHL points leader, and in every possible facet, was regarded as the most dominant player. This framed Detroit Red Wings stats jersey has been signed by the timeless icon. Mounted with the reverse showing including Howe’s famous #9 in tackle twill, career stats have been embroidered directly beneath the number including “23 Time NHL All-Star” and “4 Time Stanley Cup Champion”, with Howe signing the number in silver paint pen, adding “Mr Hockey” and “HOF 1972”, with the signature a bit weak due to the writing instrument. An 8” x 10” photo has been inserted beneath, framed to full dimensions of 34” x 42”. A “Mr Hockey” authenticity sticker has been affixed, and please note that due to the size and/or weight, special shipping arrangements may be required.
