Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
An important component in the historic chain of legendary Beantown defenders that includes Eddie Shore and Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque would play 21 seasons in Massachusetts before winning a Stanley Cup in his final campaign with Colorado. This stick was used by the superstar during the mid-1990s with Boston. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model, “Bourque 77” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with “Handcrafted Exclusively for Raymond Bourque” on the underside. The stick retains the original black tape over the blade and white tape over the shaved handle/knob with three dots handwritten, with just light game-use exhibited including wear to the underside of the blade and marks to the shaft. Additionally, the taped handle is now quite darkened.
